Communications and Public Engagement (CPE) is the Government of Alberta’s full-service communications, public relations and marketing agency.

CPE provides planning, execution and measurement of communications efforts. Its expert staff provides specialized services across the spectrum of communications and marketing from research, design, writing and social media, to event coordination, issues management, digital communications, advertising and public consultation.

The agency staffs the external communications functions in all departments of government and its operations branch, with a mandate of enhancing communications between the people and the Government of Alberta.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Are you a seasoned web content strategist with a knack for leading impactful projects and guiding clients to success? We're seeking a dynamic individual to step into the role of Web Content Strategist, where you'll be at the forefront of shaping and enhancing the online presence of ministries across the Alberta Public Service.

As a Web Content Strategist, you'll provide expert advice to ministries and help them craft strategic and informative web content. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Content Strategy, you'll have the autonomy to steer projects and provide expert guidance to a diverse range of clients, including ministry communications branches and program area contacts.

What does success look like in this role? It's all about your writing skills and strategic mindset. You'll be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of web content, from conception to execution, ensuring it not only meets internal requirements but also resonates with our audience. Your days will be filled with:

- Leading the Charge: You'll be the driving force behind web content projects, from inception to completion. Managing Alberta.ca content projects will be your bread and butter, as you navigate client relations, timelines, and communications to ensure smooth sailing.
- Crafting Compelling Content: Your writing skills will shine as you collaborate with ministry communications leads to refine content and align it with our overarching goals. No content challenge will be too daunting for you—you'll find creative ways to keep projects moving forward, refining processes and utilizing your client relations skills along the way.
- Designing for Impact: While content is king, design plays a crucial role in enhancing the user experience. You'll provide design support to our content strategy team, developing mock-ups using the Alberta.ca design system and providing feedback for future design updates and usability testing.
- Leading with Purpose: Mentoring will be second nature to you as you guide Program Services staff and ensure project teams stay aligned and motivated, driving ongoing improvements in web content.
- Championing Governance**:Your expertise will extend beyond content creation—you'll provide invaluable advice on governance, policies, and procedures. By participating in committees and working groups, you'll help shape the future of digital communication within our organization.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Note: For professional work related to Communications (e.g. Communications Advisor), a directly related diploma is considered equivalent to university graduation in a related field.
