Accounting Assistant

Reporting to the controller, the accounting assistant will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and accounts receivable duties listed below.

Description:

- Support and assist the controller with the daily accounting functions and the monthly/yearly cycle and reconciliation and account analysis
- Maintain new and pre-owned vehicle inventories/reconcile floorplan
- Maintain and reconcile all related schedules
- Prepare monthly invoices and issue them to our customers
- Maintain accounting ledgers by accurately posting account transactions
- Post and reconcile vehicle deals, including commission calculations
- Post customer payments by recording cash, cheques, and credit card transactions
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with both external and internal customers
- Responsible for accounts receivable including billing preparation, delivery, and responding to queries
- Monitor and assist in the collection of overdue accounts
- College diploma in related studies
- Minimum of 2 years related work experience
- A complete understanding of full cycle accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Automotive experience is an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
