**The Opportunity (Toronto, ON - Hybrid)**

Reporting into the Controller, the Billing Specialist will own the end-to-end invoicing to cash lifecycle across multiple revenue segments and payment processors. Our team has a strong focus on process improvement and this role will have a significant impact in driving efficiency in the billing cycle. This person will work cross functionally and across different business units, coordinating and leading initiatives and projects.

**Your Impact**:

- ** Reconciliation and Analysis**:Conduct weekly and monthly reconciliations utilizing standard and custom reports to facilitate timely business reviews and decision-making. Analyze AR aging and cash collections data to identify trends and support key business objectives.
- ** Data Validation and Entry**:Verify, match, and enter data, employing professional skepticism and problem-solving skills to validate information. Ensure smooth invoicing and collections processes for new and existing customers, collaborating with Sales and Customer Experience teams during onboarding and renewal phases.
- ** Customer and Stakeholder Interaction**:Address customer inquiries promptly and effectively, fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Resolve customer and internal stakeholder inquiries in a timely manner, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- ** Accounts Receivable Optimization**:Brainstorming and presenting solutions for difficult uncollectible accounts and working towards bettering our aged accounts receivable position.
- **Ad Hoc Project Support**:Assist with ad hoc projects across the Finance team as required.

**Your Qualifications**:

- ** Proven Experience**:2-3 years of experience in accounts payable/receivable teams, preferably in a SaaS or a subscription revenue-based environment.
- ** Prioritization & Time Management**:You're adept at juggling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and managing your time effectively. You don’t need guidance on structuring your day and you can effectively assess and shuffle priorities on the fly. You can juggle anything and you have devised ways of keeping yourself organized and on pace without losing track of any of the details.
- ** Excellent communication skills**: Clear and concise communication abilities, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
- ** Critical Thinking and Attention to Detail**:Analytical mindset with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and inconsistencies in financial data, coupled with the ability to devise solutions and implement corrective actions.
- ** Stakeholder Management**:You excel at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
- **Tech Stack**: Experience using subscription management software and CRMs, ERP systems (bonus points for Netsuite), and Excel (Intermediate proficiency).
