**The **Opportunity**

Fueling Brains Academy is seeking two skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at Fueling Brains Education Services. These are 10-month contract, part time positions, up to 20 hours per week, and focuses on assessing and treating paediatric speech and language disorders. As a leading childcare service provider, our goal is to support children's brain development through early intervention services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language delays or disorders in
children.
- Develop and implement Individual Program Plans (IPP) to address speech and language goals.
- Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to enhance communication skills.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and professionals to create a holistic support system for
children.
- Utilise a play-based and child-centred approach to engage young learners.
- Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed for optimal outcomes.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology and early
childhood development.

**Qualifications / Experience**:

- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognised university.
- Registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists &
Audiologists (ACSLPA).
- Experience in assessing and treating speech and language disorders in pediatric cases.
- Ability to work closely as part of a team and mentor therapy assistants.
- Possession of a reliable vehicle, with up-to-date auto insurance and a valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with PUF contracts and experience within the Alberta Education system.
- Willingness and ability to travel to different childcare campuses.
- Valid Police check with vulnerable sectors.

**Work Environment Requirements**:
The position involves occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work-related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers, and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts that require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. There may be prolonged or irregular working hours, and the ability to maintain emotional control under stress is important.

Work may include exposure to noisy and/or disruptive student behavior, as well as potential exposure to bodily fluids and frequent childhood illnesses.
