The School of Natural Sciences in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Architecture at Laurentian
expertise in forensic anthropology, but will consider applicants with expertise in other areas of forensic

The Department of Forensic Science at Laurentian University was launched in 2004. In 2021, departments
in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Architecture were amalgamated into three Schools. The Forensic
Science Programs are now housed within the School of Natural Sciences, under the auspices of the Faculty
of Science, Engineering and Architecture.
The School of Natural Sciences currently offers three undergraduate degree programs in forensic science,
including a single concentration in forensic science, as well as combined concentrations in forensic science
and chemistry, and forensic science and biology. In 2009, Laurentian University was the first university in
Canada to receive accreditation for undergraduate programs from FEPAC (Forensic Science Education
Programs Accreditation Commission), a committee of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. In
2020, the Master of Forensic Science program welcomed its inaugural class. Our faculty continue to
conduct research in various forensic disciplines, including forensic DNA analysis, forensic toxicology and
forensic anthropology.
Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves over
8000 students and is one of two bilingual universities in the province of Ontario. Committed to its bilingual,
