one social work degree. Those who are currently completing their doctoral studies and have solid work

demonstrate teaching excellence at the undergraduate and master’s levels (on campus and/or online),

have the ability to supervise specialized placements/graduate essays or major papers, and make

contributions to the School and University governance.
- Academic expertise in one or more of the following fields: mental health, gerontology, ethics and

deontology, practice with Indigenous communities, direct practice, theories and methods of
intervention;
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels (campus and/or

online) in French;
- Experience mentoring and supporting graduate students and ability to supervise a specialized

placement, Master’s essay or major paper;
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment and enthusiasm to contribute to the

governance of the School and University as a whole;
- Clear commitment to pedagogical and academic excellence, promoting a safe, inclusive, and

welcoming learning environment, and advancing Laurentian University’s bilingual and tricultural
mandates;
- Ability and interest in contributing to the updating of the online Bachelor’s program;
- Ability and willingness to engage in dismantling anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism and other

oppressive practices that lead to social and health inequities;
- Ability and interest to understand, and actively contribute to, social work training adapted to the

realities of minority Francophone communities, with particular emphasis on the specific needs
and challenges of the Franco-Ontarian community.

Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves
