**Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions (Anglophone stream)**

The _School of Social Work_ in the_ Faculty of Education and Health _at Laurentian University invites
Assistant Professor in Social Work. The preferred start date is January 1, 2024.

scholarly and research activity, the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and communities, and
will be expected to make contributions through service to the School, Faculty, University, and broader
community. An on campus presence is expected.
- Show evidence of an active research program and scholarly expertise in some of the following

areas: direct practice, social policy and administration, gerontology, mental health, substance
use, practice with Francophone and newcomer populations, people with disabilities, anti-racism
practice, and in Indigenous social work research and practice;
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels (campus and/or

on-line) in English;
- Experience mentoring and supporting graduate students and the ability to undertake thesis

supervision;
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment and an enthusiasm for contributing to

the governance of the school and University as a whole;
- Clear commitment to pedagogical and academic excellence, promoting a safe, inclusive, and

welcoming learning environment, and advancing Laurentian University’s bilingual and
tricultural mandates;
- An ability and willingness to engage in dismantling anti-indigenous and anti-black racism and

other oppressive practices that lead to social and health inequities.
- Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves
