**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Manager, Information Systems and Technology, the incumbent is responsible for providing expertise in cybersecurity, programming, and system administration to ensure, maintain, and optimize efficiency in the Library’s IT operations and services.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- In collaboration, plans develops, implement, maintains and promotes the library’s cybersecurity practices and procedures.
- Conducts regular security audits, takes preventive measures to ensure the security and integrity of systems.
- Manages, responds to, and resolves cybersecurity incidents.
- Conducts regular systems and network monitoring; performs troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Manages and optimizes database performance and integrity.
- Work collaboratively with Library staff, IITS (Instructional and Information Technology Services) and other University departments.
- Creates and updates technical documentation for software and systems.
- Demonstrates initiative in solving unexpected problems associated with projects and daily work.
- Researches and implements new technologies or tools for improvement. Maintains expertise in technologies supported by the Systems team.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science/technology-related program or a field related to the primary responsibilities with two to four years of experience in systems administration, cybersecurity, and programming
- Proven knowledge in cybersecurity issues, practices and tools.
- Technical aptitude to solve diverse coding issues, programming errors, and security risks
- Excellent knowledge in web programming in PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Python, PERL and APIs
- Experience with the development of web services including REST, SOAP, and JSON.
- Excellent knowledge of and experience in managing, configuring and securing Linux & Windows servers.
- Experience with web server technologies and managing web servers including IIS, Apache, etc
- Excellent knowledge of and experience working with network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP,DNS, Cisco-protocols, etc
- Experience migrating/implementing, maintaining and supporting open-source solutions.
- Familiarity with authentication systems and protocols such as Active Directory, ADFS, SSO, SAML and LDAP
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework
- Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and adapt to rapidly changing technologies.
- Good spoken English (Level 4: able to give and understand detailed explanations and descriptions) and basic written English (Level 3: able to prepare short, routine correspondence); Basic spoken and written French (level 3).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Highly developed communication skills.
- Dedicated to providing exemplary customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively plan, coordinate, and implement effective information technology projects.
