Heritage Hills Elementary serves approximately 520 students in kindergarten the Grade 6, with 25 teaching staff and nine support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB. ?

Heritage Hills Elementary is a dual-track school offering programming in English and French Immersion. The school strives to help every child be a successful, self-motivated learner in a safe and caring school environment. The goal is to empower students to be lifelong learners in a changing world.

Elk Island Public School Division invites applicants for the position of Assistant Principal at Heritage Hills Elementary effective the 2024-25 school year.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
A strong foundation in elementary literacy. We are a workshop school.

The supervision and support for inclusive education.

Building relationships with students, staff, and families to maintain a positive school culture and to help students succeed.

Maintaining high visibility and accessibility during the school day, including classroom visitations.

Providing instructional leadership and creating opportunities for teacher collaboration and professional development.

Setting, maintaining and modeling high standards of professional conduct.

Supervision, observations and evaluations of staff.

Effective verbal and written communications.

Responsibility for Hour Zero.

Sharing responsibilities for Student Transportation Concerns.

Assisting with School discipline.

Assisting with timetabling, creating schedules, supervision schedules, staffing, etc.

Support in managing classified staff.

Contributing to budgeting and staffing processes.

Assisting in administration of STAR benchmarking and testing.

There may be a teaching assignment attached to this position.

**Experience, Training, Requirements**:
Verbal and written fluency in the French Language

Valid Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate

Minimum five years successful teaching experience

Master’s degree or nearing completion of a Master’s program would be considered an asset

Experience as an Assistant Principal would be considered an asset
