Lakeland Ridge serves approximately 730 students in kindergarten to Grade 9, with 33 teaching staff and 11 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB. ?

Elk Island Public School Division invites applicants for the position of Assistant Principal at Lakeland Ridge effective the 2024-25 school year.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Building relationships with students, staff and families to enhance school culture.

Supporting the mental health and wellness of staff and students.

Developing innovative and creative strategies to increase student engagement and attendance.

Providing instructional leadership for all staff to support the school education plan and the success of all students.

Providing instructional leadership in the areas of literacy and numeracy at both the elementary and junior high levels.

Facilitating a collaborative process for the collecting, tracking, analysis and review of data to inform school improvement initiatives.

Collaborating with colleagues to create meaningful opportunities for staff collaboration and professional development

Coordinating school-wide events, information evenings and high school transitions

Effective verbal and written communications with a variety of groups and individuals.

School discipline with a focus on restorative practices.

Supervision, observation and evaluation of staff, including hiring of educational assistants and noon supervisors.

Overseeing the administration of benchmark testing and provincial achievement exams.

Assisting with timetabling and staffing

Contributing to budget planning, development, projections and prioritizing allocations.

Overseeing the physical building and log maintenance requests.

Overseeing Occupational Health and Safety requirements and emergency preparedness protocols.

Duties as assigned by the Principal.

There may also be a teaching assignment attached to this position.

**Experience, Training, Requirements**:
Experience or knowledge of collaborative response and student disciple focusing on the student and educator's nervous system would be considered an asset

Valid Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate

Minimum five years successful teaching experience

Master’s degree or nearing completion of a Master’s program would be considered an asset

Experience as an Assistant Principal would be considered an asset
