We’re looking for our next Analyst, Entitlements. Could It Be You?
The purpose of the Analyst, Entitlements is to mitigate financial, regulatory and reputational risks by ensuring the SLA and regulatory compliance of third-party clearing operations services and in-house processes. They work collaboratively to foster productive and positive relationships for the benefit of Questrade’s clients and overall business operations.
What’s it like working as Analyst, Entitlements at Questrade?
The Analyst, Entitlements processes dividend and interest payment to clients’ accounts, review event bulletins, update event folders, charge appropriate amount of withholding tax if applicable, reconcile internal control accounts and resolve any break that may occur.
The Analyst, Entitlements is responsible for supervising the daily activities within Questrade’s Clearing Operations team. The position monitors, audits and measures in-house processes and third-party services against SLA’s and regulatory obligations, then reports on the results.
They act as the first and primary point of contact for outsourced back-office staff. They foster positive and productive relationships internally and with third parties, and they work collaboratively with all parties to effectively resolve issues.

- Review and ensure dividends payments (cash, stock, rights and warrants) are paid correctly
- Review and ensure dividend reinvestments are made correctly. Ensure shares are purchased and sold on time
- Process entitlement events and charge relevant withholding taxes such as QI withholding, 871(m), 1446(a) and (f)
- Review and process stock dividend events stock dividend, spinoff, and return on capital events. Review and provide tax information on these events
- Researching and investigating outstanding items
- Communicate with depositories, transfer agents and the companies on distribution and allocation information
- Provide additional event information to other departments at Questrade, i.e. ATG, Credit & Risk, Trading, and Stock Loan
- Book cheques for dividends, distribution or return on capital paid on physical positions
- Other tasks, as assigned
So are YOU our next Analyst, Entitlements? You are, if you have
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience, in the financial services industry
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a clearing operation or back office department
- Sound knowledge in one or more clearing operations functional areas is an asset
- An understanding of regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge with Excel/Google Sheets
- Interest in working with numbers is preferred
- Analytical and reconciliation skills and experience is an asset
- Experience using Broadridge system is preferred
- Knowledge in Google Suite, Google Apps Script, Microsoft macros, SQL and Python an asset
