**Overview**
The HSE Manager has overall accountability for the definition, implementation, and rollout of the HSE Strategy including associated training at all levels of the organization while working closely with Human Resources where needed.

The HSE Manager leads the building of cooperative partnerships with our First Nation partners and Indigenous Affairs, participating, and leading consultations and engaging in cultural awareness activities.

The HSE Manager also provides mentoring and coaching in HSE, Training and Social related matters throughout the organization with the goal of developing individuals, supervisors, and the like with the goal of a robust succession plan (works closely with Human Resources).

**Responsibilities**
- Manage Care & Maintenance and Environmental activities;
- Manage HSE business plans and budgets that support operations objectives;
- Oversee and support the HSE team;
- Incorporate risk management strategies to achieve company objectives and protect shareholder value;
- Lead the development and implementation of HSE and Risk Management by providing strategic direction for Wallbridge;
- Coach and mentor operational management in relation to health, safety and environment;
- Report on and ensure alignment with corporate HSE strategies;
- Liaise with government and non-government officials;
- Lead serious incident investigation;
- Establish site HSEM system;
- Develop close relationship with First Nations leadership and stakeholders;
- Establish a good working relationship with provincial and local officials;
- Act as owner’s representative in discussions with consultants and contractors;
- Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in a healthy, safe and environmentally sustainable manner;
- Lead the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study and permitting activities for Wallbridge;
- Lead the ESG reporting requirements;
- Participate in feasibility studies;
- Any other related tasks as a HSE Manager.

**Qualifications**
- College or University Degree, a mining degree would be an asset;
- Health & Safety Designation (CRSP or equivalent or activities towards certification);
- Experience leading investigations, both internal and external;
- Minimum of 10 years experience in mining operations;
- A good understanding of the Internal Responsibility system (IRS);
- Highly knowledgeable in the Health, Safety and Environment Regulations of Ontario and Quebec;
- Demonstrated experience in emergency preparedness;
- Demonstrated leadership skills;
- Knowledge of professional investigative practices;
- Knowledge of HSE best practices;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated competence in various software (i.e. MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
- Experience in working with Indigenous stakeholders;
- Experience in permitting processes and project advancement;
- Ability to travel to site and other offices regularly;
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices;
- Ability to effectively delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables;
- Adaptability to work effectively in a context of change, manage conflicting demands, and adapt to a variety of situations and individuals;
- Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships;
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
- Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal.
