- Responsible for ongoing recruitment, interviewing, screening, orientation, and education for volunteers and clients
- Manage a volunteer base of approximately 200 people
- Manage a client base of approximately 200 people
- Receives requests for volunteer services from departments and matches voluntary services to operational needs/requirements
- Coordinate client check-ins, report submissions, and support requests
- Maintains open communication and ongoing informal evaluation with the volunteers and their assigned department
- Provides ongoing encouragement, support, recognition, guidance and direction to volunteers and user departments
- Plans and hosts all volunteer recognition activities, both formal and informal
- Participates in committees as assigned
- Maintains role of liaison and fosters positive interactions with volunteers, clients, and other stakeholder groups
- Keeps informed of current trends and issues in the field of volunteerism through personal and professional education and development opportunities, providing input to administration
- Provides input on volunteer and client expenses to be captured in annual budgets
- Keeps detailed records of volunteer and client information
- Continually maintain and update volunteer and client databases
- Able to travel to multiple sites
- Demonstrates and communicates a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization
- Knows to assess work needs, prioritize, and adapt to changing routines
- Identifies and makes improvements where necessary; creates efficiencies in processes
- Applies excellent observation skills, determines urgency or reportable incidents
- Demonstrates excellent teaching skills with volunteers and staff
- Works collaboratively and empowers volunteers and staff
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Skills and Abilities**

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and foster relationships with a wide range of individuals

- Able to enforce and communicate organizational policies
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or degree in a relevant field
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Formal training in Volunteer Management and/or equivalent education and /or experience an asset
- Prior experience as a Volunteer Coordinator or Program Coordinator or other relevant positions focused on enhancing the volunteer or customer experience would be an asset
- Experience in using a volunteer software program is an asset

**FTE Breakdown**:

- Volunteer/Client Management - 75%
- Volunteer Recruitment/ Promotion - 25%

This is a permanent full-time term position (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) with some irregular hours from time to time (evenings and weekends) around events and other organizational activities.
