**Position**:Volunteer Coordinator

Candora is currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for a 0.8 F/T position (32 hour work week).

Reporting to the Administrative Supervisor, the volunteer coordinator supports the operations of the organization through appropriate internal placement of volunteers and CEPP participants.

**Who We Are**

Candora is a community-based organization in N.E. Edmonton that works together with community residents to effect positive change in their lives and the community. The organization has a long history of grassroots community development that is built upon a participatory learning approach and relationship-based practice to help affect positive change in the lives of individuals, families and communities.

**Key Responsibilities**

The Candora Employment Prep Program (CEPP) is a primary focus of the volunteer coordinator. Participants of the CEPP program utilize volunteer opportunities to develop their employment skills. The volunteer coordinator oversees internal volunteer placements and supervision, with a particular focus on volunteer coordination for Candora’s food production based social venture.
- CEPP and Social Venture Responsibilities_
- Work with CEPP program staff to determine suitable volunteer roles for participants
- Provide orientation, training, scheduling and supervision for CEPP participant volunteer activities
- Provide direct supervision to social venture volunteers (CEPP Participants)
- Provide employer support and supervision for CEPP practicum placements
- Evaluate growth and gaps in workplace competencies of CEPP volonteers
- Work in supervisory capacity for social venture vendorships on location at 2 local Farmer’s Markets.
- General Volunteer Program Responsibilities_
- Maintain appropriate documentation/reporting for volunteers and volunteer activities
- Manage volunteer software
- Recruit and maintain volunteers
- Assess and develop internal volunteer opportunities
- Provide support for day to day supervision of volunteer activities
- Obtain corporate or group volunteer days and act as primary contact to organizing group
- Coordinate food bank pick ups
- Ensure proper coverage of volunteers for Community Lunch and other public activities/events
- Other duties as require by the supervisor

**Qualifications, Skills & Competencies**
- Previous experience in volunteer coordination/management
- Familiarity with donor management software
- Previous supervisory experience
- Culinary experience is an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple volunteers’ schedules
- Sales/Customer service Experience is an asset
- Program management/coordination experience is an asset
- Training and Facilitation experience is an asset
- Must have a drivers license and reliable transportation

**Working Conditions**
- The Volunteer Coordinator works a regular full-time schedule of 32 hours per week. A typical work week will likely to include evening work on Tuesdays (May through October) and Saturday during the day while supervising social venture business activities.
