As an **_Assistant Buyer_**, you will enter the world of Buying with one of the longest standing menswear retailers in Canada. In this role, you will assist the Buyer in managing the day-to-day merchandising strategy execution, providing administrative and analytical support. Your background includes retail experience and post-secondary education in Fashion Merchandising.

**What you will do in this role**
- Learn the ropes while you provide support to the Buyer _
- Provide support to the Buyer for all buying functions with the assigned category
- Create and read sales and inventory reports, provide support on weekly analysis
- Participate in training, including product knowledge, and training on the analytical tools used by Buyer
- Assist in the development of seasonal strategies
- Participate in weekly Merchandising meetings
- Create Purchase Orders, ensure budgets are maintained, identify & communicate opportunities and/or discrepancies, maintain detailed records
- Create pre-product specifications and maintain samples
- Maintain Buying plans
- Communicate regularly with other teams as required, keep the Buyer up-to-date with any issues requiring resolution
- Performs other related duties as required

**And your qualifications include**
- Post-secondary education in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
