We currently have an opportunity for **a Project Coordinator, Wayfinding & Signage (temporary full-time, Jan 2025 - Sep 2026)**to join our Transition Management Office.
**How Project Coordinator, Wayfinding & Signage support our teams**:
The merger of Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital to “NewCo” results in need for a rebrand, including temporary and permanent interior and exterior signage. As distinct Hospitals, this provides the opportunity to inventory and assess legacy signage/wayfinding, and work to create and execute recommendations and standards to help implement successful patient-centric experiences across all campuses.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Engagement and Director the Project Coordinator, Wayfinding and Signage, will support initiatives related to rebranding of Facilities Planning and Organizational Signage and Wayfinding.
- Perform thorough signage/wayfinding audit at Grand River and St. Mary’s acute and satellite locations.
- Plan, conduct, and lead discussions across clinical and enabling service teams to inform recommendations for rebrand and future signage treatments.
- Develop a signage inventory database accessible across the Hospitals/Foundations.
- Work in partnership with BFCT team to consider best practices for a systems-wide signage/wayfinding approach.
- Through audit and collaborations, propose priority signage projects. Plan and execute on installation.
- Collaborate with Foundations to assess and address donor recognition signage to establish replacement/move forward.
- In consultation with team members, develop and update design standards and specifications, as well as a signage Standard Operating Procedure, that aligns with current technical and accessibility requirements (including equesting new signage, replacement signage, etc.).
- Through signage, create a consistent, system-wide, patient-centred signage and wayfinding directives.
- In partnership with Director, Strategic Engagement and Executive Direct, Transition Management Office, propose signage treatments that can grow/evolve throughout coping strategy, and still embrace and showcase new brand.
**The**Project Coordinator, Wayfinding & Signage**will bring the following**:
- Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- 1-2 years experience (co-op included) in architecture engineering, or city planner environment.
- Knowledgeable in architectural design, specifications, construction and contracting techniques.
- Fully conversant with and experienced using the current versions of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator; and experience with Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, CorelDraw and SketchUP would be an asset.
- Understanding of Regional / Provincial regulations, guidelines, codes, and by-laws pertaining to wayfinding / signage
**Relevant Experience/Key Traits**
- Communicate in a variety of mediums
- Plan and organize activities / projects to meet section and organizational goals
- Create and deliver presentations in various formats

- Sound judgment; and well-developed analytical, problem solving, and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives;
- Ability to create and motivate team spirit; and organize, manage and work on numerous projects concurrently;
- Demonstrated ability to research and prepare detailed presentations, and to communicate intent to varied groups;
- Excellent organizational skills to logically maintain effective records of design and communication;
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
