**Your Opportunity**
BDO Canada's National office is seeking an IT Asset Coordinator to actively manage IT hardware and software assets within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. You will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology investment across the organization. As IT Asset Coordinator, you will also develop and make recommendations to improve procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Strategy and Center of Excellence.

**Strategy and Planning**
- Explore opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI from company resources.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of IT asset management activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supports strategies and external relationships for auctioning, recycling, or otherwise selling obsolete assets.
- Participate in budget creation, submission, and management.
- Work with technology teams members to establish (or refresh) Hardware and Software Asset management policies and procedures.
**Acquisition and Deployment**
- Support request fulfillment, purchasing, receiving of hardware and software.
- Conduct and report asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information. Investigate and recommend corrective measures to resolve data accuracy issues.
- Support the review of warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts to assist with asset upkeep, upgrades, repair, and replacement.
- Identify opportunities to allocate IT assets more efficiently.
- Monitor and analyze trends in IT inventory control to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization.
**Operational Management**
- Working closely with IT management and configuration item (CI) Owners this position is accountable to ensure that software and hardware CI data (i.e. serial numbers, identification tags, etc.) is captured in the configuration management database (CMDB) and the information is up to date, accurate, and auditable.
- Support CI owners as they mature the automation of manual processes for asset synchronization with the CMDB.
- Create and maintain processes and procedures to track and maintain copies of software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Work with the IT Operations Analyst to ensure IT Product owners are maintaining software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Act as the owner for the CMDB, ensuring CI owners are assigned and the CMDB remains organized following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Drive CMDB Integrations with operational management and reporting tools.
- Drive the building of CI relationships of the CMDB.
- Perform inventories and usage monitoring of all IT assets and record all findings, changes, physical location, and incidences of support.
- Research industry best practices and compare against the organization's practices to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets.
- Generate, distribute, and review relevant management reports including usage statistics (utilization, performance, cost, spending, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contracts) to support purchasing decisions.
- Assess compliance with established IT asset policies and procedures and support IT audit and certification efforts.
- Effectively communicate and provide training on asset management policies, procedures, and tools.
