**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Do you appreciate the importance of helping parents foster literacy skills in their youngsters? Are you adept at discerning the requirements of a community and creating, coordinating, and executing programs and services tailored to meet those needs? If so, the Community Resource Centre Facilitator role, focusing on our Family Literacy Program, could be your next dream job. Working on programming for this initiative, you will channel your creativity into helping parents gain the skills and strategies to create a literacy-rich environment for their children in the home.

**WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?**

Will be required to adhere to processes and policies in support of Municipal goals and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

- Developing, planning and executing programming to meet the needs of clientele and the community
- Acting as a liaison and maintaining good working

relationships with applicable governing bodies and
organizations
- Maintaining a resource centre containing information relevant to the programs
- Planning, developing and implementing advertising and marketing strategies
- Maintaining filing systems and client files
- General accounting tasks such as budgeting and coding

expenditures
- Promote the development of children, parents, and families through educational and preventative programming
- Other duties as assigned.

**WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**

Minimum Requirements
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrate an understanding of Early Childhood Development, risk factors and unique community needs
- Have the ability to work with clients from all age groups and of diverse cultural groups, one on one or in group setting
- Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Check

Additional Requirements
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Build, foster, and sustain a positive public image

**WHAT DO WE OFFER?**

WHEN WILL YOU BE WORKING?
- Term Contract - ending June 2024
- Up to 20 hours/week
- Flexible scheduling based on operational requirements
- Evenings and weekends when necessary

WHAT WILL YOU BE PAID?
- $ 21.82 - $36.68/hour
- Placement within this range will depend on experience
