Department Manager

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Awake Residential Night Worker will maintain a safe, comfortable and clean-living environment by:

- monitoring the safety and well-being of residents during the night and attending to their needs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
The Awake Residential Night Worker will have:

- a Grade 12 Diploma;
- six months recent, related experience; or
- an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

The Awake Residential Night Worker must demonstrate:

**SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**:
The Awake Residential Night Worker will require:

- the ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental disorders;
- the ability to manage high risk behaviours;
- the ability to manage crisis situations;
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- organization, prioritization and motivation skills;
- excellent problem solving skills;
- the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team;
- the ability to work in an isolated environment;
- the ability to work with people of diverse ages, cultures and personal situations;
- a valid driver’s license;
- Emergency First Aid and CPR Certificates;
- a W.H.M.I.S. Certificate;
- a Medication Delivery Training Certificate;
- FoodSafe Certificate;
- Foundations Training and
- a CPI Certificate.

**HOURS OF WORK**:
35.0 hours per week, flexible to meet program needs.

5 days on 5 days off 2 days on 2 days off

10pm to 8am

**RATE OF PAY**:
$22.79/Hr As per the Collective Agreement.
