**Job Summary**:
VOICES for Women is a feminist, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence and exploitation, including those affected by human trafficking. We are currently seeking an Outreach Support Student to join our team and assist in developing outreach resources, educational tools, and social events for women and youth experiencing sexual trauma in the Sudbury area. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside our experienced counsellors, engage in program intakes, and participate in booster/check-in sessions, based on the student's level of knowledge and experience.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with VOICES counsellors to develop outreach resources, tailored to the needs of survivors of sexual violence and exploitation.
- Assist in the creation of educational tools, aimed at raising awareness and promoting prevention of sexual trauma.
- Organize and coordinate social events to provide opportunities for women and youth, affected by sexual trauma to connect and support each other.
- Participate in program intakes, providing support and information to individuals seeking assistance from VOICES for Women.
- Conduct booster/check-in sessions with program participants, offering ongoing support and guidance as needed.
- Engage in regular communication with team members, to ensure the effective implementation of outreach initiatives and programs.

**Education and Training Required**:

- Minimum or a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (i.e. General Education Development (GED) or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE)).
- Enrolled in a relevant program (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, etc.) at the university or college level.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**Experience Required**:

- Practical understanding of commercial sexual exploitation and sexual violence of women and youth across diverse intersections (e.g. race, faith, sexual orientation, and gender identities)
- Related experience/knowledge providing support to women and youth with who have experienced trauma, Intimate Partner violence, and sexual assault.

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required**:

- Strong commitment to feminist principles and values, with a passion for advocating for survivors of sexual violence and exploitation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, sensitively and respectfully.
- Demonstrated organizational abilities, with the capacity to plan and execute outreach initiatives and events effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as independently when necessary.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices and the impact of sexual trauma on individuals and communities (knowledge in this area is an asset but not required).
- A reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance. Travel across Sudbury Region is a requirement within this position.
- Require a Vulnerable Sector Check.

**Start Date** - May 13th **End Date** - August 23rd

15 weeks: Monday to Friday (30 hours/week)
