**Hours of work: 35 hours per week**

The Coordinator, Financial Payments provides senior administrative and technical support to the Manager, Supervisor, Project Managers and technical staff including assisting with project financials, accounting, invoices and payments.

**What you will do in this role**:

- Generates and formats reports, forms, documentation and correspondence according to standards maintaining confidentiality
- Processes payment certificates and invoices for capital projects
- Liaise with senior financial analysts, accounts receivables, payables and purchasing on various financial related matters
- Performs updates and ensures accuracy in tracking project status, e.g. PM assignment, close-outs, under maintenance start/end dates, etc
- Conducts tender analysis of tender bids for in-house projects and prepares “Schedule of Unit Prices” for progress payment certificate back-up
- Generates and formats reports for monthly meetings and on ad-hoc basis
- Assists with tri-annual and year-end projections and reporting, focusing on accruals and cash flow
- Completes contract progress reports for insurance surety companies
- Generates requests for purchase orders and requests for cheques
- Performs journal entries from various accounts between projects
- Ensures that adequate back-up and necessary documentation is provided e.g. WSIB clearance certificate, substantial performance documents, etc.
- Provides coverage for Assistant Technical (in the section) and other coordinators within Transportation when required
- Assists in preparation of legal, tender, or technical documents

**What the role requires**:

- Diploma and/or post-secondary courses in Business Administration (plus a minimum of 3 years related experience)
- Strong mathematical aptitude, information gathering and problem solving skills with demonstrated experience with finance
- Knowledge of current and capital budget financial reporting procedures

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong accounting skills
- Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and efficient time management skills
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner within a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and pro-actively managing bias

**Nice to have**:

- Knowledge of Municipal financial processes/procedures and project management needs would be an asset
