The Manager of Support Services is responsible for overseeing and directing the day-to-day operations of all environmental services, nutrition and food services and registration/switchboard activities at LWHA sites.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must possess a College Diploma in one of the following: o Management/leadership/business o Health care discipline o Facilities or skilled trade o Food Services o Health care administration
- Prepared to obtain Safe Food Handling Certificate
- 5 years of previous health care work experience
- 2 years of experience as a supervisor/manager in a healthcare setting.

**EFFORT**:

- Minimal physical effort
- Extensive degree of mental effort and analysis

**ABILITES**:

- Ensure an appropriate environmental services and cleaning program is in place for multiple buildings including 2 acute care hospitals, 3 multi-use health care facilities and 4 residences (hereafter referred to as ‘facilities’).
- Ensure all environmental cleaning and disinfection policies, processes, routines and activities meet IPAC and acute hospital standards
- Manage a Nutrition and Food Services function serving 2 acute care hospitals, staff and visitors.
- Develop and provide a registration and switchboard function that effectively supports patients and hospital operations.
- Ensure the registration and switchboard function effectively provides patient information, registration and guidance while supporting various hospital operations through communication and coordination.
- Direct the hiring, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation and discipline of all staff within areas of responsibility
- Provide leadership on applicable emergency codes. E.g. Code Brown
- Develop a multi-year capital plan to maintain all equipment with areas of responsibility
- Participate on various hospital committees including labour management, project, construction, JHSC, safety/security, operations quality and Leadership.
- Coordinate activities with maintenance and clinical leadership
- Ensures that policy and procedure manuals are current, accessible and that work is performed in accordance with the same
- Contributes to the budget process and monitors financial results of departments in consultation with CFO
- Implements standardized departmental procedures for all support services departments and staff.
- Lead, support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on applicable Operational Plans
- Active member of applicable team/unit/department meetings and huddles
- Other duties as assigned

**HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday with on-call duty as required**
