**Title Project Coordinator* - Immigrant Services Kingston and Area (ISKA) Newcomer Settlement Program**

Reports to Director, Community Services

Position Type Contract Ending March 31, 2024, Part Time (17.5 hours per week)

Start Date June 2023

Salary $31.60 - $37.18/hour

**Position Summary**

**Detailed Responsibilities**

Planning, Development and Implementation
- Coordinate programming services and outreach activities to ensure integrated provision of services
- Recruit for and create project team and serve as project team administrator (call meetings, prepare agendas, execute tasks between meetings);
- Remain informed of best practices and current trends in addressing immigration and settlement in Canada
- Collaborate with KIP and community partners
- Support the recruitment and selection of staff and develop, implement and support team work plans
- Prepare proposals for new funding agreements.

**Reporting and Evaluation**
- Provide written and verbal status reports including detailed project implementation timelines to the Director, KCHC board, and community as requested
- Lead overall evaluation of the project under the direction of the project; management team within as per funder requirements

Communication and Relationship Building
- Liaise with community partners and funders in order to monitor and meet the needs of the community
- Perform outreach in the local community to promote NSP objectives, build positive relationships, assist in the identification of community needs, build partnerships for the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan
- Manage social media and website as it relates to the project
- Maintain knowledge of immigrant and newcomer trends, issues, and processes
- Ensure accountability to clients, community and stakeholders through reporting and evaluation measures, preparing reports as needed.

**Organizational Responsibilities**
- Complies with all relevant legislation and KCHC policies, including privacy laws
- Commits to acquiring an understanding of the importance of trauma responsiveness and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
- Commits to demonstrating an ongoing commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigenization and Accessibility (EDIIA) by representing the diverse nature of our communities, promoting and practicing inclusion
- Supports KCHC’s student and volunteer placement programs
- Promotes awareness of and participation in KCHC activities
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement
- On occasion, perform other temporary duties as required

**Basic Education and Experience Requirements**
- Relevant undergraduate degree (i.e., social sciences, communication, business), or combination of relevant education and experience
- Experience with successful project facilitation, project management or coordination in a community-based setting related to settlement and immigration
- Experience in researching best practices

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Strong knowledge of immigrant and diversity issues, and of community resources
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the challenges newcomers experience
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of EDIIA principles
- Ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal (including written and verbal communication) skills
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
- Self-directed with ability to obtain objectives while working with a diverse team and maintaining commitment to being a “team player”

**Other Requirements**
- Valid Driver’s License, valid insurance coverage and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current and satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Persons Check
- French or other language is an asset
- Ability to work flexible hours, long days and occasional evenings and weekends
