**Position Title**: Manager, Marketing and Communications

**Location**: Kitchener, ON

**Reports To**: Vice President, Healthcare Innovation

**Date**: March 6, 2023

**I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities**

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for the delivery, leadership, and management of all marketing and communications goals for the organization. This individual will oversee the development of goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive marketing campaigns. The incumbent will promote the creation, enhancement, development, and execution of marketing programs to promote Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) and its services. Some marketing goals will include maintaining the brand integrity of VLRC and strategically positioning the organization as a trusted source for knowledge while establishing the organization status as a leader in the delivery of vision rehabilitation therapy in Canada. The Marketing and Communications Manager will also oversee the deployment of an internal communications strategy that is aligned with VLRC’s strategic plan.

**II. Essential Functions**

**This position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities**:

- Develop an annual marketing and communications strategy with key deliverables
- Evaluate current marketing and communications activities and adapt them to meet current needs and trends
- Provide strategic direction on marketing and communications opportunities and development needs of the operations team
- Provide centralized reports and activities as requested to the executive leadership team (ELT) and board of directors
- Manage the creation of all required accessible documents and translation of all require materials with external vendors as needed
- Coordinate all marketing production requests
- Provide marketing support for day-to-day project requests and special projects including campaigns and events

**Relationships**:

- Liaises and builds relationships with internal and external colleagues and partners
- Works both independently and collaboratively with all departments
- Participates in committees and team meetings as required
- Able to lead through influence

- Able to provide solutions to routine questions using creative and timely problem solving skills
- Able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work
- Detailed oriented, accurate, and efficient

- Works under the general direction of VLRC guidelines and standards but has latitude in making decisions on routine tasks
- Consults with supervisor on issues that are more complex or may require upper-level approval
- Exercises judgement and tact when dealing with individuals and knowing when to elevate issues to the next level
- Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality

- Uses experience in quality assurance and project management to see tasks through to completion in an efficient manner
- Maintains a positive attitude focused on overall organization success
- Takes initiative to keep abreast of various policies and procedures, trends, legislation, etc., as they relate to the position
