Here’s how a(n) CWB Level 2 Quality Inspector for our PCL Industrial Management Inc. district, on a project site located in Regina, SK contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Conducting quality activities aligned with project scope as per the contract terms and conditions.
- Reviewing the project specifications and identifies quality requirements.
- Participating in the development and implementation of ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
- Non-destructive testing (NDE/NDT) coordination.
- Determining material requirements and traceability.
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Producing and/or collecting quality turnover documentation.
- Acting as a liaison with craft/staff personnel to provide technical assistance as needed.
- Identifying and discerning root causes associated with nonconformances and reports to project team and quality manager.
- Verifying trade contractor compliance to their quality program and contract documents.
- Planning and coordinating daily Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) activities with construction activities.
- Working with field management to ensure the protection of finished work.
- Staying current with industry practices and technologies and seeking new and innovative construction methods and processes.
**Qualifications**:
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
- 4 years of progressive experience in quality control and/or industrial construction industry.
- Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Level 2 and/or American Petroleum Institute (API) 510, 650, 570 certifications.
- Experience with the fabrication of ASME Sec VII Div 1 vessels and ASME B31 piping.
- Working knowledge of all codes and regulatory requirements (ABSA) related to the construction industry.
- General knowledge of construction industry; understands specifications, methods, and procedures.
- Demonstrates planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders
Working Conditions:
- This position has no allowance for living or travel expenses, so we are looking for someone local to Regina, SK.
- The successful applicant must be able to provide their own CSA approved steel toed boots and be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test.
- Shift rotation for this position will be Monday to Friday. 10-hour workdays.
