**WHO WE ARE**

Established to support Canadian forestry workers and their families, the IWA-Forest Industry Pension and LTD Plans provide pension and disability benefits and rehabilitation services to members. The plans are jointly trusteed by union and industry appointees.

With over $4 billion in assets, 450+ participating employers and 70,000 members, the IWA-Forest Industry Pension Plan is one of Canada’s top 100 pension funds and is one of the top three private sector pension funds in BC. The IWA-Forest Industry LTD Plan was created almost a decade after the pension plan, and now serves over 8,000 members across western Canada.

Both plans are administered by the Plan Office, which manages plan assets and benefits. At the Plan Office, our members are our number one priority, and we take pride in offering exceptional service—whether we’re dealing with members, participating employers, union locals or each other.

**WHO YOU ARE**

You will be responsible for such things as:

- Assemble retirement packages and prepare pension estimates and letters within established timelines.
- Process termination benefits and pre-retirement death benefits accurately and in a timely manner.
- File verification of pension and termination files to ensure members have received all the credits they are entitled to.
- With respect to pension and termination packages, ensure all relevant documents received are in proper order and that check sheets are completed.
- Identify and attend to missing documentation or missing information to ensure all required documentation has been received prior to the set up and processing of any benefit payments. Incomplete documentation must be addressed and followed-up.
- Verify the work of the other Pension Analysts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide accurate and timely information to third party financial institutions regarding the transfer of benefits from the plan. May also be required to consult with lawyers, investment professionals or others working on behalf of plan members.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of the annual break in service letters and termination packages.
- Handle the escalation of member related enquiries that arrive by telephone through the general information line (ACD).

**YOU HAVE/ARE**
- Must have completed post-secondary Diploma/Certificate in a related field, and a minimum of five years of pension administration experience in a fast-paced environment. A CEBS designation is considered an asset. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must be a highly professional and dependable individual with a proven ability to meet time sensitive deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and effectively deal with changing situations.
- Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills together with a member service focus and a professional and respectful approach. Must demonstrate patience, tact, and sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters and potentially difficult member situations.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and within a team environment.
- Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**

This union position is part of Move-Up.

The IWA—Forest Industry Pension and LTD Plans are responsible for the management and protection of large amounts of confidential information. All employees are expected to understand the requirements of and act in accordance with provincial privacy laws as well as to adhere to internal controls and policies to ensure confidential information is not revealed to or distributed or discussed with anyone other than as required to perform the duties of the position.
