Bilsland Griffith Benefit Administrators is a third party pension and benefit plan administrator based in Burnaby. We work closely with the members and Trustees of negotiated cost pension and benefits plans in delivering superior member service and accurate plan administration.


Our team is made up of consultants, data analysts, pension and benefit administrators, accountants and support staff, focussing on making sure that Plan members understand the benefits that have been negotiated on their behalf.

Our clients value our breadth of experience and attention to detail in administering their plans.


The Data Analyst/Plan Administrator is responsible for the data administration of member information for various benefit plans administered by Bilsland Griffith Benefit Administrators (BG).

This information determines eligibility for health and welfare benefits.

In addition, the person in this role will answer member phone calls and answer their questions regarding their benefit coverage or eligibility.


Core Responsibilities

Plan Member Service

  • Seek to identify areas where service to clients could be improved.

Calculations

  • Oversee selfpay calculations for benefit coverage eligibility.

Records Management and Administration

  • Process and reconcile contributions including remitting contributions cheques to plan custodian.
  • Review member records to ensure up to date information is in place.
  • Liaise with Manulife, GSC, PBC and other service providers as required.

Records Management

  • Maintain records for Benefit Plan:
  • Enroll, terminate, or change members online.
  • Contact carrier when there are problems with a member's coverage.
  • Review list of new enrollees monthly.

Administration and Additional Duties

  • Help with other plan as requested.

Work Experience:

  • Postsecondary education or formal training in Pension and Benefits Administration, Office Administration and/or customer service.
  • At least five years' previous customer service experience, preferably within a finance, analytics work environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Working knowledge of basic record keeping and bookkeeping/accounting procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Intermediate skills using a variety of computerized software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), related databases and Internet.

Pay:
$50,000.00 per year
