**About the Program**

The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests and abilities. TDSRC celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, and inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way. This is key to building a lifelong love of reading.

**About Us**

The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is a big part of the community and we are proud to offer many diverse programs and events for all. We encourage you to visit the Library’s website to discover why the CRPL is your community destination to learn, discover, imagine and play.

We are seeking a student to run our TD Summer Reading Club from May 13 to August 23, 2024, 35h/week, at $20/hour.
- Develop, promote and run the TD Summer Reading Club for children aged 6 to 12
- Prepare registration and activity packages to be picked up by members
- Create and implement fun and interesting activities to keep participants engaged
- Research and present library books that will encourage participants to keep reading
- Prepare social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content using an online graphic design platform
- Interact daily and create meaningful dialogue with TDSRC participants on social media
- Prepare and deliver weekly in-person programming
- Track Club participation and statistics using Google Drive and Excel spreadsheets
- Work occasional evenings and weekends

To qualify, the individual MUST:

- Be currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary institution, including in Fall 2024
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French
- Be proficient in using computers, Internet navigation, common office software and social media
- Be flexible and effective working with others in a team environment
- Demonstrate creativity, punctuality, responsibility and excellent organizational skills
- Have the ability to communicate verbally and online with children and their parents
- Hold a valid driver's licence in Ontario and have access to a vehicle
- Experience in social, cultural and/or an educational environment would be an asset._

Le Club de lecture d’été TD est le plus important programme du genre au Canada. Bilingue et gratuit, il s’adresse à tous les enfants, peu importe leur âge, leurs goûts et leurs aptitudes. En plus de mettre en vedette des œuvres, des auteurs et des illustrateurs canadiens, le Club invite les enfants à découvrir le plaisir de lire à leur façon, pour que l’amour de la lecture les accompagne toute leur vie.

Nous sommes à la recherche d'un(e) étudiant(e) pour diriger notre Club de lecture d'été TD du 13 mai au 23 août 2024, 35h/semaine, à 20$/ heure.
- Développer, promouvoir et gérer le CLÉ TD pour les enfants âgés de 6 à 12 ans
- Créer et réaliser des activités amusantes et intéressantes pour maintenir l'intérêt des participants
- Rechercher et présenter des livres qui encourageront les participants à poursuivre leur lecture
- Préparer des affiches pour les médias sociaux, des présentations, des documents et d'autres contenus visuels à l'aide d'une plateforme de conception graphique en ligne
- Interagir quotidiennement et créer un dialogue marquant avec les participants du CLÉ TD sur les médias sociaux
- Préparer et offrir la programmation hebdomadaire en personne
- Enregistrer la participation et les statistiques du club à l'aide de Google Drive et Excel
- Travailler occasionnellement en soirée et/ou la fin de semaine

Pour être admissible, l'individu DOIT:

- Être inscrit à temps plein dans un institut postsecondaire, y compris à l'automne 2024
- Avoir d'excellentes compétences de communication orale et écrite, tant en anglais qu'en français
- Maîtriser l'utilisation des ordinateurs, de l'internet, les suites bureautiques courantes et des médias sociaux
- Faire preuve de flexibilité et travailler avec efficacité en équipe
- Démontrer la créativité, la ponctualité, la responsabilité et un excellent sens d’organisation
- Avoir la capacité de communiquer en personne et en ligne avec les enfants et leurs parents
- Détenir un permis de conduire valide en Ontario et avoir accès à un véhicule
- Une expérience dans un environnement social, culturel et/ou éducatif serait un atout._
