- As an Investigator, you will work as part of a dedicated team of professionals responsible for the security function of helping to keep people, information, and assets safe and secure. Following the Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) approach, you will recommend controls to reduce risks facing our corporate assets. Primary duties include:

- Plan and conduct impartial investigations on allegations of corporate administration policy breaches and matters involving City assets.
- Gather and assess various forms of evidence.
- Conduct investigative interviews with complainants, respondents, and witnesses.
- Develop detailed reports, provide factual information to senior management, supervisors, and leaders to assist in resolving sensitive personnel issues.
- Work closely with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as part of investigations.
- Collaborate and liaise with internal partners and outside agencies to obtain and provide information.
- Provide guidance on security related topics to all levels of employees.
- Develop, review, implement and assess corporate policies and procedures related to security management.
- Prepare and give evidence in court or arbitration.

**Qualifications**
- A completed 2 year diploma in a security related field and at least 8 years of experience in a security function such as law enforcement or related equivalent (for example: investigations, assessments, evaluations, administrative justice); OR
- A degree and at least 4 years of experience as noted above.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Previous law enforcement, intelligence, and/or experience conducting administrative investigations, fraud/financial analysis, risk and prevention is preferred.
- Must be eligible to obtain an Investigator¿s license issued under the Security Services and Investigator¿s Act of Alberta.
- A valid Class 5 Driver¿s Licence (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Power Bl, Teams).
- Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) will be considered an asset.
- Experience with database systems such as Video Management software, PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) and Records Management will be an asset.
- Well-developed analytical and decision-making skills, above average computer skills, and excellent organizational, time management, interviewing, and communication skills.
- Proven integrity and ethics, highly motivated, with strong political acumen.
- The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, capable of working independently and as a team.

**Working Conditions**:This position works occasional evenings, nights or weekends and may occasionally work in the field, including being outdoors in various weather conditions as required.
