**Campus Director at the University of Saskatchewan**
- **Navigators Background and Calling **_
The Navigators of Canada is a religious order and registered charitable organization.
It’s Mission is: _“To advance the Gospel of Jesus and his Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of labourers (kingdom workers) living and discipling among all people (the lost).”_
The Navigators of Canada currently minister in Canada to students on campuses. people in the marketplace, churches developing discipleship programs, and in international settings.
- **Overview **_
The Campus Director role is a senior chaplaincy position that works with students on university campuses and oversees a team of campus mentors doing the same. This team helps students develop and grow in Christian faith through discipleship (Bible study, prayer, spiritual guidance and mentoring, teaching) individually and in groups
(weekly meetings, spiritual conferences and retreats). It prepares them to similarly help others.
The time given to roles and responsibilities fluctuate based the ministry needs, size of team and time of year.
The Campus Director will be successful when staff teams are flourishing, students are being cared for, are invited to explore Christ and are being equipped as kingdom workers.
- **Primary Responsibilities **_
1. **Lead**:Oversee the campus team and direct the ministry, including shepherding, training, and coaching the staff team in Navigator ministry skills and vision and setting direction for the work.
2. **Care**:Build relationships with students and staff team, caring for them as whole persons and cultivating a healthy faith community
3. **Invite**: Model and encourage staff and students to introduce students to
Jesus to understand and consider His invitation for relationship.
4. **Equip**:Mentor and develop staff and students as Kingdom workers who:
- follow Jesus and abide in Him
- know and live from the Scriptures
- are on mission in community
- are faithfully present with those yet to find themselves in Christ
- disciple others with spiritual generations in mind
- **Activities and Duties in Support of Primary Responsibilities **_
**SUPERVISION OF STAFF AND CAMPUS MINISTRY LEADERSHIP 40%**
**1. Shepherd and oversee campus staff team.**
Activities will include but are not limited to: training and developing interns and younger staff, conducting annual performance reviews, coaching the team in: mission, relational dynamics, ministry effectiveness, assessment, scheduling and planning, MPD and walking alongside staff in a variety of life issues.
**2. Determine direction and oversee the development of faith communities** **in collaboration with your campus staff team.**
Direct and collaborate with team to set annual and short term goals, plan and organize events, workshops, community outreach and retreats for all students
(those who know Christ and those yet to find themselves in Christ); provide in-home hospitality as well as creating informal spaces to grow in relationship with one another and God.
**3. Align your staff team with the broader work of the Canadian Navigators.**
Activities will include but are not limited to: adopting national goals and initiatives, communicating well with your supervisor, developing partnerships between international and other Canadian Navigator ministries, collaborating with Navigator colleagues, and understanding and modeling compliance with Navigator policies and procedures.
**STUDENT MINISTRY 20%**
**1. Develop relationships of trust and networks of friendship with students at the University of Saskatchewan**
Activities will include but are not limited to: visiting and sharing life experiences with students on campus, in their homes, and at church, showing interest in their lives and caring for them.
**2. Minister directly to those who show a spiritual interest**
Activities will include but are not limited to: studying the Bible with students (those who know Christ and those yet to find themselves in Christ), leading small group discussions on spiritual topics, exploring personal questions, praying together, reading and discussing books, all the while mentoring with generations in mind and praying for the students to discern what next steps for growth are
3. **Build and equip a student leadership team**
Activities will include but are not limited to: training, mentoring, coaching, shepherding, via one-to-one interaction and small group discussions; and working alongside emerging leaders in ministry activities such as co-leading Bible studies, and planning events together.
**PARTNERSHIPS & DEVELOPING CONTEXT 5%**
