**Job Summary**:
**POSITION A - REQUIREMENTS OFFICER**

The Requirements Officer is responsible for producing CSIS Intelligence Reports (CIRs) for dissemination to other government departments in accordance with established intelligence requirements (IRs)

Major responsibilities:

- Maintain knowledge of CSIS IRs, Government of Canada Intelligence Priorities and relevant client interests and intelligence requirements.
- Identify intelligence of significance and produce CSIS Intelligence Reports (CIRs) for dissemination to relevant clients.
- Assess raw intelligence to determine if it contains information that is specific, privileged, attributable, contextualized and meets client expectations and/or intelligence requirements.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with client departments/agencies to obtain precise details on intelligence requirements and to obtain feedback.
- Liaise regularly with Service HQ and regional counterparts to share client intelligence requirements, identify collection gaps and share client feedback.

**POSITION B - SCREENING OFFICER**

Major responsibilities:

- Review security screening requests, analyze and evaluate all related information, recommend methods for additional information collection and provide fact-based security advice.
- Produce various documents/reports/briefing materials to support program reviews, management processes and decisions; report on files addressed, trends identified and meetings with partners.
- Analyse file conclusions and/or timeliness of responses to assist partners with overall program evaluations/audits/litigated cases.
- Plan, organize and deliver presentations/training to internal stakeholders and external partners on screening processes and/or cases; develop training/reference materials.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to discuss specific file issues and to exchange/maintain knowledge of business best practices/processes and area/geographic security concerns; provide security screening advice to clients and partners.
- Participate on national and international interdepartmental committees, external forums and/or working groups.

**Education**:

- Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of related experience*
- College diploma and four (4) years of related experience*
- High school diploma and six (6) years of related experience*

The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.

NOTE: Any higher level of education (i.e. master’s degree or doctorate) could be recognized as experience.

**Experience**:
For both positions, relevant experience is defined as:

- Experience in research and analysis where you compile, review and make recommendations and decisions based on available information.
- Experience in writing reports such as; status reports, briefing notes, memos, presentations, or business requirements reports.

**Assets**
- Experience in assessing threat-related concerns to national security.
- Experience in analysing and synthesizing data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of the Ministerial Direction, national security issues and the intelligence cycle.
- Experience in providing verbal briefings.
- Experience in an operational environment.
- Experience in liaising with internal or external stakeholders.
- Experience delivering presentations and/or training.
- Experience working with citizenship and/or government security screening thresholds.
- Experience or specialization in specific geographic areas.
