We are currently looking for a HACCP Coordinator for up to 6 months Term position.

**Overview**:
The Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) teams ensure high quality, safe products that comply with all food regulations. Quality & food safety are cornerstones of GMI's commitment to serve the world by making food people love. In this critical role, you'll have unique opportunities to lead and influence food safety direction.

**Job Summary**:
Provide technical and analytical support to the Winnipeg facility to obtain continuous product quality and productivity improvements. Maintain, updated HACCP program and FSSC programs against regulations and GMI standards. Provide leadership in the areas of Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Management with an emphasis on consumer requirements.

**Job Functions**:

- Ensure facility continually follows principles of HACCP and meets all regulatory and corporate requirements. Support the maintenance of the HACCP program. Oversee verification system. Based on gaps provide/ suggest corrective actions to improve systems.
- Participate in the review of plans and equipment to ensure all systems meet product safety, sanitary design, quality, corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Provide FSQ training (GMP, HACCP etc.) as required.
- Support FSQ Manager with the scheduling and update of programs related to FSSC.
- Assist with problem solving when line performance is not satisfactory.
- Review documentation for non-compliances and release product.
- Identify non-conforming products, ingredients and packaging and initiate hold process.
- Collaborate with suppliers and corporate resources to drive food safety and quality raw material improvements. Responsible to oversee direct contact with supplier for packaging material and lead changes and improvement.
- Hold and disposition raw materials and finished product in HiFi.
- Responsible to Cover FSQ Tech during vacation time
- . This includes weekend and night and on call support. This is not a work from home position.
- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations.
- Assist in monitoring and investigating consumer complaints.
- Conduct audits to ensure facility meets all GMI/regulatory, sanitation and product safety guidelines. Implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Support R&D and plant trials.
- Understand the Food Safety preventative controls and monitoring compliance.
- Support approval of packaging material
- communicate changes.
- Commitment to human safety and the ability to articulate necessary steps in written programs to ensure employees work safely.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in Food Safety & Sanitation
- Bachelor’s degree, bachelor’s degree in baking science, Engineering - Chemical, Engineering - Industrial, Engineering - Foods, Engineering - Packaging, Food Science, Food Science and Industry, or Food Science and Technology preferred.
- HACCP Certification and HACCP Coordinator experience (1 Year)
- Familiar with Canadian Food safety regulations and knowledge’s how to complaint with the regulations.
- Understanding of product quality, sensory, and food safety.
- Understanding of internal policies/standards, regulatory requirements.
- Bias for action and consistently delivers strong results.
- Self-motivated and capable of advancing initiatives independently
- Strong organizational skills and
- Demonstrated ability to write programs in a clear and concise manner, well directed communication.
- Demonstrated risk assessment skills, managing issues to assure proper control, minimize losses and provide analysis of root cause to eliminate future occurrences.
- Ability to work both independently and in team settings; including work on project teams as assigned by FSQ Manager that involve other functions, divisions, or organizations.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Maximo, SAP
