**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES**

- Under the direction of the Supervisor, Quality & Food Safety, ensure that the requirements of the SQF Code, IMS requirements, and ISO 9001 are effectively implemented and maintained
- Prepare annual food safety internal audit schedule, direct, and perform internal food safety audits
- Prepare annual internal quality audit schedule, direct, and perform internal quality audits
- Ensure corrective actions from internal and external food safety audits are documented and properly completed
- Prepare monthly reports relating to the quality and food safety management systems
- Develop, implement, and maintain new quality and food safety systems, best practices, and other optimizations to make Winpak more efficient
- Create custom reports to analyze, and form decisions based on the managements agreed upon strategy
- Work with department managers to ensure that risks to the quality and food safety management system are identified and managed to mitigate any risks
- Ensure verification and validation of the food safety system is conducted, at a minimum, on an annual basis
- Ensure annual reviews of risk assessments are conducted (FMEA’s)
- Review sub-contractor’s and suppliers’ certifications to ensure they are current
- Develop and deliver oral presentations when required.
- Coordinate the planning of the food safety committee meetings and activities
- Coordinate the planning of the quality council meetings and activities
- Ensure quality and food safety documentation meets Winpak’s requirements for document control
- Provide quality and food safety training to new hires
- introduction to Quality & Food Safety Policy, good manufacturing practices and HACCP
- Verification of Food Safety Manual procedures and Quality Manual and propose revisions where applicable
- Support Supervisor, Quality & Food Safety in the training of new managers / supervisors on Food Safety and Quality Manual procedures
- Support other members of the Quality & Food Safety team as directed by the Supervisor, Quality & Food Safety
- Support various communication systems to promote awareness of food safety, i.e., Winpak TV, Intranet, huddle scripts, etc.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF standards
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**
- Grade 12 with post-secondary preferred
- Certificate in a recognized HACCP training program
- Certificate in a recognized GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) training course
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training
- Implementing ISO Quality Management System training - preferred
- Certification to a structured problem-solving program (i.e., CME Lean Level 1) - preferred

**Experience**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in developing and maintaining a GFSI program - preferred
- Planning and performing internal food safety audits
- Planning and performing internal quality audits
- Knowledge of the current SQF Code
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Interstate Milk Shippers program (Standards For The Fabrication Of Single-Service Containers and/or Closures For Milk and/or Milk Products)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard
- Experience with developing and delivering training programs
- Experience with the principles of document control
- Familiar with process mapping and risk analysis techniques

- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are required
