Job Summary

Sunrise Farms, a leading poultry industry company, seeks a highly skilled Logistics Operations Manager to optimize resource utilization and ensure seamless material flow within the warehouse and receiving operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse Management: Supervise warehouse personnel, ensuring they are familiar with company policies and procedures. Schedule and assign work to meet delivery requirements.
  • Material Flow and Logistics: Monitor, analyze, and coordinate material flow, storage, and logistics based on FIFO principles to minimize inventory write-offs and increase efficiencies.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Manage and coordinate the staging and returns of materials, components, to and from Packaging & Processing departments as required.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels through the Cycle Count Program and assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting the annual Physical Inventory Process.
Promote Food Safety/HACCP
  • Oversee Production Employee Practices: Ensure all production employees follow good manufacturing practices. Regularly review and monitor documentation of critical point checks.
  • Enforce Adherence to SOPs and HACCP Requirements: Enforce adherence to SOPs and HACCP requirements to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Administration
  • Daily Reviews of Time and Attendance Records: Conduct daily reviews of time and attendance records for departments under direct supervision.
  • Authorize Pay and Benefits: Authorize pay, hours worked, and other benefits for employees as per collective agreement.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager: Keep the Operations Manager informed of all aspects of areas of responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Grade 12 or equivalent, supervisory training an asset, minimum of 5 years in Materials Management with supervisor experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of freight, warehousing, and transportation industry, good computer skills, strong communication skills, and knowledge of workplace Health & Safety and HACCP regulations is an asset.
