**Purchasing and Receiving Clerk**

The Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, a luxury 83-room boutique hotel, part of the prestigious Relais and Chateaux, located across from the fashionable Robson Square in the heart of Vancouver's thriving cosmopolitan core has an immediate opening for **Purchasing and Receiving Clerk.**

**Summary of Responsibilities**:
The key responsibilities of the Purchasing and Receiving Clerk include but are not limited to:

- Daily beverage and mini bar transfers
- Responsible for receiving of goods
- Prepare storage areas for incoming deliveries.
- Check for deliveries to verify piece count, and check for obvious damage.
- Notify department of discrepancies
- Issue, receive and order products from the purchasing room
- Sign for deliveries with appropriate adjustments noted on invoice.
- Coordinate beverage returns, ensuring that returned items get back to appropriate suppliers in a timely manner.
- Inspect the physical condition and the quality of all goods at the time they are received and before they are placed in storage
- Ensure that all purchase orders, packing slips, or invoices are date stamped and signed-off with the appropriate receiving stamp upon deliveries.
- Review the return used banquet beverage items from each function
- Manages purchases by forwarding orders to suppliers and monitoring and expediting orders
- Enter and maintain computer system of the receiving transactions based on packing slips
- Keep an accurate accounting of all products transferred to the various outlets and complete the necessary spreadsheet for tracking purposes, completed daily/weekly
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
- Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
- Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Maintain an organized work environment
- Participate in inventory counts
- Assist to prepare boxes/labels with outside storage
- Responsible for purchasing general supply and other items, to include bidding out items as needed to acquire the best quality product at the best market price.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience is an asset
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook software programs
- Strong personal, communication and organizational skill
- Self-motivated
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Must be able lift 25kg.
