**Position Description**:
The Research Assistant will assist with the recruitment and scanning of children with a new wearable magnetoencephalography (MEG) system, using optically pumped magnetometry (OPM). An important aspect of the position will be assisting with the management of a large, multi-site and multi-investigator project investigating the early development of autism spectrum disorder.

**Here’s what you’ll get to do**:

- Recruitment and scanning of young children using OPMs.
- Scheduling research study appointments.
- Preparation of reports on milestones, achievements, etc.
- Scoring neuropsychological assessments and becoming proficient in their administration.
- Providing continuity and acting as a source of information for research participants and their families
- Performing a variety of technical assignments under general supervision.
- Ordering supplies and equipment.
- Taking considerable responsibility for day-to-day running of project.
- Exercising moderate independent judgment and decision-making using established policies and procedures to resolve technical problems.
- Following established guidelines, procedures and standards.
- May provide supervision to junior lab staff.

**Here’s what you’ll need**:

- A Bachelors or Masters degree in psychology, human neurosciences or equivalent appropriate degree.
- Relevant research experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Previous research experience working with children.
- Previous experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, ADHD, etc.) is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, proactive, and have demonstrated excellence in organizing and prioritizing workflow in a fast paced and high-volume environment.
- Able to work flexible hours, including the occasional weekend day, on-site.

**Employment type**:

- Full time; 35 hours per week, 1 year contract (possibility of renewal)
