Purpose of the position_**
The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Assists with contracts with external firms providing services, consulting, etc. and ensures compliance with the terms of the contracts.
- Ensures strong documentation, tracking, and file maintenance controls are in place.
- Provides regular status updates and reports as requested.
- Provides advice, support, and guidance within area of expertise to staff and serves on interdepartmental project teams and Council committees as required.
- May represent the County and its interests, or position on local committees or boards.
- Enters and processes biweekly and monthly payroll cycles for all County staff, Council members, fire & support members, and local board members.
- Processes the onboarding and offboarding functions of all employees into the payroll, benefits, and pension systems.
- Conducts provincial or municipal salary surveys.
- Assists with packages, letters, memos, surveys, forms, meetings and other correspondence (i.e. acting pay, employment verification, long-service and increments).
- Coordinates and delivers new-hire or refresher orientations to all staff. Creates up-to-date material for employee orientation.

- A diploma or degree in accounting, human resources or a related field
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation (is an asset)
- Canadian Human Resources Professional (CPHR) Designation (is an asset/be willing to obtain)
- 3 to 5 years related experience in payroll/human resources environment
- A solid work ethic, with an eagerness to learn, and be a team player
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills and public relations skills

Full-time permanent position (Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm) - 35hrs per week
