**Salary**: The salary range for this position is CAD $38.12/Hr. - CAD $54.80/Hr.

Summary: Within the context of a client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care. the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Peer Leader provides guidance and advice on the design, development and implementation of policies and procedures to inform practice and service delivery. Oversees the peer engagement framework including evaluating and assessing peer integration and making recommendations to ensure peer perspective and inclusion in service delivery models, programs, and initiatives. Provides leadership, management and direction to a team consisting of Peer Coordinators, OPS Coordinators and/or peer support workers including staff development; provides oversight of program activities and program planning; tracks program goals, objectives to ensures program deliverables meet expected deadlines. Participates in the development of knowledge translation initiatives. Works to ensure the inclusion of the voices of People with Lived and Living Experience across the system of care. Plans and implements projects and initiatives in conjunction with the program Operations team. Leads and coordinates peer education activities and informs quality improvement and educational activities related to substance use, addiction treatment and bed-based recovery programs. Contributes to the expansion, maintenance, and ongoing capacity building of people with lived or living experience of substance use and families. Participates on committees and working groups as required.
What You Bring: Education, Training and Experience
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Baccalaureate degree in a related health discipline and/or living experience of accessing substance use/recovery focused services plus a minimum five (5) years’ recent, related experience working with and advocating for people with lived and living experience of substance use, recovery services, their families and communities. Previous experience in program development and implementation required.

- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of best practices for change management and change leadership.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations and best practices for peer service delivery.
- Ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent and analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
- Ability to interact productively and professionally with a wide range of internal and external partners within a complex interdisciplinary environment including physician, nursing and other health professional communities.
- Effective facilitation, persuasion, and negotiation skills to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.
- Proven leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor others.
- Ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

4.Engages with other leaders and members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure understanding and alignment of service delivery goals and objectives.
5.Provides leadership and direction to Peer Coordinators, OPS Program Coordinators and/or Peer Support Workers including staff scheduling, communicating work priorities, troubleshooting issues and concerns, developing and implementation staff orientation, and training programs, evaluating performance, and handling disciplinary issues with support from Human Resources up to and including termination.
