**The opportunity**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Analyze and prepare documents, and convert them into a file format that is compatible with the relevant translation memory software.
- Manage and execute desktop publishing (DTP) tasks for a variety of translation projects, including document layout, formatting, and graphics localization.
- Troubleshoot issues related to formatting, graphics, and language layout during the pre and post translation process.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure that translated materials conform to client requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the translation team to ensure that translated materials are accurately and effectively integrated into the final product.
- Stay up to date with the latest desktop publishing and translation technologies and techniques.

**Requirements**:

- College degree in office technology or computer graphics.
- At least 2 years of experience in desktop publishing, localization, or translation engineering.
- Strong command of MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficient in desktop publishing tools, such as Adobe InDesign and FrameMaker as well as optical character recognition tools such as Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools, translation memories, and digital glossaries, Trados Studio and MultiTerm an asset.
- Fast and stable Internet connection so as to access a managed desktop environment and wide monitor allowing for the comfortable display of 3 to 4 side-by-side document pages.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Excellent command of French and English.
- Fluency in other languages is also an asset, as well as experience working in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
- Familiarity with markup languages, such as XML and HTML.
- Familiarity with VBA, JavaScript and regular expressions.
- Familiarity with translation-assistance tools.

À propos du poste_**
- Nous recherchons_ un_(e)_ t_echnicien(e) à temps plein hautement qualifié(e) et motivé(e) qui sera responsable de la préparation et du post-traitement des fichiers produits à l’aide d’outils de traduction assistée par ordinateur (TAO). Ce poste est à pourvoir en tant que pigiste, et prévoit un travail à distance à temps plein dans un environnement bilingue (français et anglais)._

- _ Gérer et réaliser des tâches de publication assistée par ordinateur (PAO) pour divers projets de traduction, y compris la mise en page, le formatage et la localisation des éléments graphiques._
- _ Résoudre les problèmes liés au formatage, aux éléments graphiques et à la mise en page de la langue pendant le processus de pré et de post-traduction._
- _ Effectuer des contrôles de la qualité pour s’assurer que les documents traduits répondent aux exigences du client et aux normes en vigueur dans l’industrie._
- _ Collaborer avec l’équipe de traduction pour veiller à ce que les documents traduits soient intégrés avec exactitude et pertinence dans le produit final._
- _ Créer et maintenir des mémoires de traduction et des glossaires spécifiques à un client ou un domaine._
- _ Se tenir au courant des dernières évolutions en matière de technologies et de techniques de PAO et de traduction._

**_ Exigences_**
- _ Diplôme d’études collégiales en bureautique ou en infographie._
- _ Au moins 2 ans d’expérience en PAO, localisation ou ingénierie de traduction._
- _ Solide maîtrise de MS Office avec une expertise en Microsoft Word, PowerPoint et Excel._
- _ Maîtrise des outils de PAO, notamment Adobe InDesign et FrameMaker, ainsi que des outils de reconnaissance optique de caractères tels qu’Adobe Acrobat._
- _ Connaissance des outils de TAO, des mémoires de traduction et des glossaires numériques. RWS Trados Studio et MultiTerm, un atout._
