District Administrative Assistant - Itinerant - Continuing

**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the District Administrative Assistant provides confidential and non-confidential administrative and accounting services and is responsible for organizing and directing the efficient operation of the school office or other District departments and could include supervising the work of of others when providing replacement coverage.

The Call Out Operator/HR Coordinator and SmartFind will schedule the District Office Support position to assignments throughout the District from Monday to Friday.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Minimum of 1-2 years post-secondary secretarial or office administration courses/programs or equivalent.

Ability to work independently, to use initiative and independent judgement and to handle a high volume of detailed clerical work quickly and accurately with frequent interruptions.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required. Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information.

Knowledge of District Policies and Procedures.

Experience supervising and assigning work to others is an asset.

Ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines with minimum direction.

Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.

Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Knowledge of basic first aid.

Knowledge of WSBC and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.
