**The Opportunity**:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide the key interface between sales, plant and transport companies. Works closely with the Operations Manager and Supervisors to facilitate a smooth flow of material movement from receipt to delivery. This individual will have responsibilities in recording and reporting of labour data, scheduling of trucks and plant work orders.
Shift: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
**Responsibilities**:
- Schedules orders to maintain warehouse order processing and to meet delivery times.
- Manage production priorities and builds reports for respective workstations (saw, shear & polisher)
- Communicates inventory and production issues to reduce customer complaints.
- Ensures inventory levels are sufficient to support current demands and sales growth plans.
- Receives, tags and inspects incoming materials.
- Enters data in SAP related to production, received product from vendors and branches.
- Updates, communicates and schedules to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Informs shipping of urgent orders to meet customer expected deadlines.
- Acts as liaison with sales related to errors, expediting and order changes.
- Provides suggestions and presentations for continuous improvements and cost savings initiatives.
- Makes a positive, proactive contribution to a safe, professional work environment.
- Works in compliance with health, safety and environment programs as established by legislative requirements and Ryerson policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
**Skills and qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completed post-secondary education in one or more of the following areas: administration, logistics, procurement, inventory management or equivalent experience.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in production or logistics administration preferred.
- Metals industry experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Training or related experience in SAP is required.
- Knowledge of all aspects of order entry and inventory control procedures is an asset.
- Knowledge of environment, health and safety procedures in compliance with the provincial regulations and Ryerson policies.
- Training in ISO 9001:2008 policies, procedures and work instructions is an asset.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational, attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment, as well as work independently and be able to participate in a team environment.

**Salary**: $53,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
