Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Integrated Quality Management/Demand. The program manager is responsible to manage, support and improve patient flow in the Edmonton Zone both internal and external patient admissions, transfers, and discharges that ensure “the right patient is placed in the right bed at the right time”. The Program Manager instrumental from both a strategic and operational perspective in the flow of patients within the zone, province and interprovincially while working with key partners to ensure patients access the services required and flow is maintained in the Edmonton Zone. Additionally, you will provide leadership to support continuous improvement, health system quality and performance through an innovative approach to patient and family centered care and engagement in the Edmonton Zone.

Description:
The Program Manager works collaboratively with inpatient managers, Continuing Care and Recovery Alberta partners along with Emergency Medical Services, Infection Prevention Control, Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging and RAAPID North to support efficient and effective patient access and flow improvement. The position provides support to the Site Integrated Operations Centers and bed management and patient flow teams and all patient flow activity within the Edmonton Zone from service capacity and surge planning to patient movement across the continuum of care. The program manager will identify process improvement strategies to improve the current inpatient system and reduce patient length of stay. Develop a sustainable patient flow model using a continuous quality improvement framework to foster the timely and efficient transfer of patients across the organization and beyond. The Program Manager provides guidance, coaching and assistance to the Zone Integrated Operations Centre Patient Flow Leads and Coordinators.

A minimum of a graduate degree in health care management, business administration or a related health care field preferred. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including a minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role in clinical services or healthcare operations. Proven leadership, strategic and team-building skills including the ability to build consensus and support around common goals. Exceptional project management skills and ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Master's Degree in a related Health Sciences field is an asset.
