Business Development Specialist

We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Specialist to help us continue Lind Equipment’s rapid growth.
This role is responsible for finding and developing new business opportunities with general contractors and electrical contractors for temporary power and lighting for their construction sites. These products are absolutely required on all construction sites, so your role is to pique their interest in Lind’s offering. Leads are provided from a large database of construction projects.
Working from Lind’s headquarters, you will interact with customers on a daily basis to qualify opportunities and create that critical ‘first touch’ with potential customers. You have an upbeat, energetic personality and you are not afraid of working hard. Your compensation will be both salary and commission, without a cap.
You do not need experience in temporary power or lighting to join us. We provide comprehensive training for all new employees. What you do need is a great attitude, ability to learn, and a desire to make an impact at a fast-growing, innovative company.
NOTE: This role works 4 days per week in the office, and one day per week at home.
Duties
- Access and manipulate leads database to do initial screen of opportunities
- Communicate key features, advantages, and benefits of Lind products and services
- Fully qualify and pre-sell opportunities to pass on to Outside Sales team to win
- Understand Lind’s competitors’ products and know Lind’s competitive advantages
- Provide accurate pricing and availability information
- Enter opportunities into ERP system
- Work with Outside Sales team to jointly close qualified opportunities
- Work with Production Planning to have ready access to information about delivery times
Desired Skills & Experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and issue resolution skills
- Education and/or experience related to outgoing sales is a plus
- French language skills are a plus

Remuneration: $50,000 salary plus commission
