**Role Overview**:
The Assistant Patrol Manager will report directly to the Safety/Patrol Manager. The Assistant Patrol Manager is responsible for running the day-to-day operation of the Patrol Department in the Winter and Summer Season while assisting the Safety Advisor with administrative tasks. The Assistant Patrol Manger is responsible for covering the Safety Mangers days off and working at least one weekend day per week.

**What You Will Do**:
The Assistant Patrol Manger works closely with three departments; Patrol, Health and Safety and Mountain Operations. The Assistant Patrol Manager is responsible for:
**Health and Safety**:

- Assisting the Safety Advisor with WorkSafeBC claims management, Risk Assessments, and ongoing claim follow up.
- Assisting the Safety Advisor with tasks related to the JOHSC
- Assisting the Safety Advisor with emergency procedures training exercises
- Participating in the annual COR Audit

Patrol
- Coordinating, recording and data management for the 1Risk database, including Incident Reporting, Checklist Management and Dispatch Records
- Assisting the Safety/Patrol Manager with Payroll and Scheduling
- Assisting the Safety/Patrol Manger with hiring, recruiting and uniform issue
- Maintaining Patrol Training Records and assisting Patrol Supervisors with the Patrol Training Program
- Guest and staff accident paperwork review and follow up
- Completing accident investigations
- Act as liaison between the Patrol Supervisors and other departments on the mountain
- Organize Pre-Season Patrol training in the Summer and Winter
- Ordering supplies and maintaining inventories
- Implementing, developing, and maintaining the Patrol risk management strategies
- Annually Updating the Patrol SOP and training checklists
- Covering Patrol Supervisor and Snow Shoe Park Patroller shifts when required
- Running Patroller operational debriefs and providing mental health resources to Patrollers
- Other duties as assigned

Mountain Operations
- Responsible for providing Duty Manger shift coverage during summer months

Supervisory Responsibility

The Assistant Patrol Manager is responsible for cooperatively managing the Patrol Supervisors.
The Patrol Department will be co-managed between the Safety Manager and the Assistant Patrol Manager.

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required**:
**Qualifications**:

- OFA Level 3 or Licenced EMR
- AST Level 1 or CAA Level 1 (preferred)
- Rope Rescue Training (Different Courses will be reviewed)
- Two years of post secondary education or applicable work experience
- Three years of Patrol experience and one season of Patrol Supervisor experience preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver licence
- Mental Health training is an asset

Skills/Abilities
- Excellent/Strong Skier and Hiker who is physically fit to complete all daily Patrol tasks
- Proficient at operating snowmobiles and ATV’s
- Strong leadership skills with a positive personality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Ceridian Dayforce
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Desire to further education and knowledge
- Previous Supervisor or Manager experience
