**Sales Representative (Mississauga, ON)**

Responsible for raising awareness of the Company in the market place and bringing on new clients/new business.** **Key activities include: identification of new prospects (through market research), assessment of client needs and management of risk. Manages a variety of distribution channels in order to achieve specified growth and profitability targets. Appoints to client segments in accordance with client service required, profitability and potential. Key aspects are business growth, profitability and relationship development.

**Sales, Business Relationships**
- Responsible for raising awareness of the company in the market place and bringing on new clients and business; Key activities include: identification of new prospects, assessment of client needs and selection of suitable/potential clients, establishing appropriate policy structure and management of risk in line with business segmentation
- Responsible for developing business relationships with a variety of intermediaries: client, broker and/or customer. Will take responsibility for negotiating of terms of business: either at an individual deal or scheme level. Has a responsibility to manage relationships and deliver against operational plans
- Demonstrates competence in own product area
- Acts within clearly defined and easily understood product area
- May enlarge client list; building sales in a particular product
- Typically works with moderate guidance
- Works within an assigned area or client base
- Broadens selling skills and deepens knowledge in own product/services
- Applies knowledge/skills to a variety of standard day-to-day activities
- Interprets client needs and works to meet those needs; identifies potential business opportunities, referring more complex leads
- Understands the key business drivers; uses this knowledge to focus own work activities
- Is aware of costs related to potential profitable activities
- Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations; generates solutions, assesses each using standard procedures and makes a sound decision
- Prioritizes and organizes own work to deliver to agreed targets and deadlines
- Probes and listens carefully, presents information clearly and in appropriate style, makes technical information clear, persuades others in straightforward situations
- Contributes actively in team activities, sharing experience and ideas
- Acquires productive relationships internally and externally amongst clients in own defined sales area
