The Catering & Events Assistant Manager is the second point of contact for catering clients and, as such, represents the Fat Sparrow Catering team through accommodating client needs in a positive & supportive way whilst providing quick and efficient service. They also assist the Catering and Events Manager with planning events and other administrative duties.

Qualifications:

- Valid G license with a clean driving record.
- Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ideally 1-2 years’ experience working in catering or other related experience, such as hospitality, restaurants or hotels & tourism.
- The ability to perform your tasks in a discreet and professional manner, pleasant and outgoing personality.
- Strong planning, detail, and organizational skills - someone who notices the details.
- Ability to work closely with others in a team environment while also working independently.
- Exceptional internal and external customer service skills
- Strong communication skills; speaking, reading, and writing.
- Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
- Excellent organization skills with effective time management
- Reliable, flexible, hardworking, and dedicated
- Basic Food Knowledge. (HACCP food training)
- Smart Serve and Food Handler certification is an asset.
- The ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs.
- The ability to operate a full-sized van to transport food orders to private homes and businesses in Waterloo and the surrounding area, adhering to delivery deadlines.

- Ensure only the highest quality food, beverage & service reaches our guests in accordance with all pre-established standards & specifications.
- Ensure thorough knowledge of the steps of service and how they affect the guest experience.
- Service, procedures, and timing must adhere to specified goals and reflect a commitment to maximizing the effectiveness of the operation. Anticipation of guests’ needs, wants and preferences to avoid delays and to address concerns before they are communicated.
- Continually strive to improve the quality and delivery of services.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
