Event Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Coordinator to join our team at Home Hardware Stores. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing large-scale buying events, conferences, and exhibitions that showcase our products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the planning and execution of major conferences and events, including Homecoming, Dealer Retail Symposium, Supplier Partnership Meetings, and Dealer Regional Meetings.
- Liaise with internal and external vendors to prepare quotes, RFPs, financial estimates, BEOs, and floor plans for assigned events.
- Act as the onsite contact for events, including coordinating deliveries, suppliers, event set up, facility preparedness, signage, client assistance, and day-of event requirements.
- Maintain and adhere to the provided budget for assigned events, in collaboration with the finance team, including budget tracking and revenue/expense reconciliations.
- Lead working group meetings in support of assigned events.
- Provide leadership to Event Coordinators & Assistants, ensuring they are aware of and adhering to HHSL event standards and expectations.
- Support occasional team/staff events.
- Post-secondary education in Event or Hospitality Management, with five to eight years of event planning experience.
- One to two years of leadership experience (direct or indirect) is an asset.
- Experience with planning large-scale conferences of 500+ attendees.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication style to various levels of stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work as part of a team and independently with great interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual (French) is an asset but not required.
- Very well-versed with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or graphics creation is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work with interruptions and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
