**Position**

The Teaching Support Specialist will be responsible for the instruction of courses at the undergraduate level and will support a host of initiatives to enhance the first-year student experience as well as the Undergraduate Programs portfolio. They will report to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs and join a team of instructional and professional staff focused on the Faculty’s core value of helping students succeed.

**Duties**
- Develop and deliver new programs, courses, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the student experience, including working collaboratively with the Director, First Year on a host of initiatives in the first year of engineering
- Support and expand the Bridge2Engg programs designed to prepare incoming students for success in engineering programs
- To support the renewal of engineering programs collaboratively with Departments in the Faculty of Engineering, including Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering & School of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) requirements for accreditation
- Design, develop, and support evidence-based and progressive strategies to reduce student workload and stress

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Undergraduate and Masters or PhD degrees
- Experience teaching at the Undergraduate level in a post-secondary environment
- Strong knowledge of pedagogy and andragogy, including experience with course or program development
- Experience with course delivery in a variety of modalities, both in-person and online, synchronous or asynchronous, and in traditional or flipped paradigms
- Ability to make informed and equitable decisions to enable students of many abilities and backgrounds to be successful here
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching, leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in developing student assessment strategies
