Survey Party Chief (Geomatics)

Pasquini & Associates is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief (5+ years’ experience) to

join our growing geomatics team. Our geomatics group conducts legal surveys (for subdivisions,

rights of way, road dedication, etc.), construction surveys, new home construction surveys,

topographic/site surveys, and any other survey related services our clients require. The

subdivision posting.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Survey Party Chief with at least 3 years’ experience

in the land development industry. Experience as a survey party chief for Construction Projects. Experience with the layout/survey of gridlines, piles, surface and other construction related items, as well as a strong ability to read architectural, structural and civil plans.
- Diploma in geomatics technology or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary

institution is preferred.
- Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills.
- Ability to interpret survey plans, engineering plans and architectural plans.
- Working knowledge of GPS, total stations, and electronic data collection equipment.
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5) must be maintained and is a condition of employment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Report to Alberta Land Surveyor/Project Manager.
- Compliance with Pasquini & Associates’ Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Management and oversight of assigned field survey.
- Conduct legal and construction surveys for subdivisions, rights of way, condominiums

(bare land and building), commercial/industrial development, and new home

construction.
- Supervise and mentor Survey Assistant, as required.
- Uphold and adhere to minimum survey standards as per the ALSA Manual of Standard

Practice and Pasquini & Associates’ field surveys policies/practices.
- Accurate/precise data collection and clear/concise field notes.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Maintain strong client communication and management accountability.
- Equipment maintenance, control, repair, and inventory accountability.
- Must provide own vehicle for travel to and from job sites. Compensation for

mileage will be provided.
- Must provide own cellular phone with data plan. Compensation for cellular plan

will be provided.

The compensation package for this position will be commensurate with level of qualifications of
- Manage and oversee land surveying projects from start to finish
- Conduct field surveys using various surveying equipment
- Collect and analyze survey data using data management systems and databases
- Prepare accurate and detailed survey reports
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project success
- Train and mentor junior surveyors

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or a related field
- Proven experience as a Party Chief or in a similar role
- Proficient in the use of surveying equipment and software
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and techniques
- Excellent data management skills, including experience with databases
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $70,000.00-$83,000.00 per year
