Ugme Assessment and Program Evaluation Manager

**Purpose**:
The UGME Assessment and Program Evaluation Manager role is a consultant and collaborator on assessment design and program evaluation for individuals, groups, and university administration within the School of Medicine. Reporting to the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Operations Director, the role takes a co-leadership developing program evaluation strategy for the York University School of Medicine (SoM) curriculum and faculty, following a reflective and evidence-based practice.
The role collaborates with the Faculty Lead, Curriculum and Accreditation, the Advisor, Faculty Development, other Advisors, Accreditation Committee members, partners and clinical and non-clinical Faculty. With this collaboration, the role develops, revises and finalizes:
- an integrated assessment and program evaluation plan for the School of Medicine's curriculum.
- policies and procedures required by various regulatory bodies, such as the Committee on the Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and York University's Quality Assurance Procedures (YUQAP).
**Education**:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
Doctorate Degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline, such as Education.
Completed coursework and/or research study in learning assessment and program evaluation development, and faculty development.
**Experience**:
4 years related experience.
Experience in assessment development and delivery in a post-secondary setting.
Direct experience in assessment design and implementation.
Relevant experience as an educator, administrator, academic consultant or assessment researcher.
**Skills**:
Knowledge
Understanding of current assessment theory and practice.
Knowledge of competency-based education implementation(s).
Knowledge of assessment evaluation tools, research, and literature.
Knowledge of organizational change theory related to assessment.
Knowledge of decolonization, indigenous history and culture.
Knowledge of the principles and practices to deliver Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in medicine and post-secondary education.Skills
Effective consulting skills, which include the appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive matters.
Effective research, information management and writing skills.
Effective communication skills.
Effective collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Effective skills in progress testing and in analysis of assessment data, including accurate collation of psychometric reports and clear articulation of messages to relevant stakeholders.
Ability to work with university academic leadership and faculty members to evaluate needs, advise actions, recommend activities and build consensus.

- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
